Anaerobic Digester Sludge / Digestate

Vermicomposting the dewatered sludge (digestate) from anaerobic digesters.

Anaerobic digestion is an excellent technology for generating energy from specific organic waste sources. During anaerobic digestion, the microorganisms ferment the wet organic waste by releasing biogas (methane = CH4). The bulk of the organic waste inputs includes all nutrients; most of the water, non-fermented organic material and contaminants are discharged as an almost liquid slurry called 'digested'.
